Email yourself in the future – or someone else . . .

How many times have you thought to yourself, “I will remember to teach my child this lesson when they reach a certain age?” Or, “I will not forget that I want to do this when I am XX yrs old”?  This is precisely why I love the idea of FutureMe.org.  The founders describe it as a site to email yourself in the future; but I think it can be oh-so-much-more!

You now have the opportunity to email yourself those things you hope you will remember to do some day in the future.  You can use it as a time capsule – remind yourself of simple things, of life-lessons, etc!  I could go on and on!

Do you have an idea now for when you are going to have that very difficult conversation about drugs and alcohol – send yourself a reminder.  At the very least, you will appreciate the effort of the you of the past!  You may even see humor in it – was I being naive?  Or, you may actually have a groundbreaking moment – one in which you can see your current situation through the fresh (and hopeful) eyes of a new parent.

Email the future at  FutureMe.org.
